IFDA Board of Directors

2016 Chapter President:

What they do: The Chapter President sets the goals for the year and presides over the monthly board meetings. He/she is part of the National Council of Presidents and participates on monthly conference calls with all other chapters. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1-1.5 hours per week.


2016 Treasurer & Vice-President of Financial Resources:

By-Laws Definition: The Treasurer shall receive and have charge of all funds of the Chapter. The Treasurer shall deposit or cause to be deposited such funds in such banks and trust companies as the Chapter Board shall direct and shall see that the funds of the Chapter are disbursed only upon the approval of either the President or the Chapter Board. The Treasurer shall expend no sum in excess of $100 without prior vote of the Chapter Board, other than rentals and other contractual liabilities.

What they do: Pick up mail from PO Box once a month. Deposit checks at Johnson Bank. Enter all transaction in QuickBooks on-line from home computer. Reconcile checking account and manage PayPal and Money Market funds. Write checks to vendors and for reimbursement as needed. Maintains all chapter passwords. Prepares monthly report for board meeting and emails national the P&L report. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1 hour per week.


2016 Recording Secretary:

By-Laws Definition: The Secretary shall be responsible for the proper record keeping of the Association, give notice of, attend, keep and distribute minutes of all meetings of the Association, the Board, and the Council of Presidents.  He/She shall be responsible for the timely preparation of the ballot for the Annual Election, as well as the sending, receipt, and supervising the professional staff in the tallying of such ballots.

What they do: At the Board Meeting each month, reports are gathered and compiled and additional notes are taken on discussions and decisions and they are all recorded into the meeting minutes. Those are sent out to the Board for approval and once approved are emailed to Nationakl for their records. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about .5 hour per week.

2016 Vice-President of Membership:

By-Laws Definition: Vice President of Membership is an appointed officer of the chapter. He/She shall participate in all board meetings and attend chapter events. The Vice President of Membership shall exercise all such powers and perform all such duties which may be delegated by the Chapter Board, not inconsistent with the provisions of these Bylaws and/or those of the International organization.

What they do: Actively promotes IFDA and recruits new members. Follows up with visitors after meetings. Reaches out to new members to engage participation. Sends out new member kits. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1-1.5 hours per week.


2016 Vice-President of Membership Retention & Educational Foundation:

By-Laws Definition: Responsible for membership renewal process which includes contacting all non-renewing members with the goal of retaining them.  Reports on non-renewed members are submitted to the national Director at Large in charge of membership.

What they do: This is an optional position and is busiest in January and assists with recruiting for the rest of the year. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1-1.5 hours per week.


2016 Vice-President of Sponsors:

What they do: This is an optional position and he/she recruits new members/Sponsors as well as converts members to Sponsors. They coordinate the Sponsor dinner once per year. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1-1.5 hours per week.


2016 Vice-President of Programs:

By-Laws Definition: Responsible for planning and development of regular educational programs for members and prospective members.

What they do: Coordinates with VP of Communications to send invitations and update the Chapter website with program details. Recruits volunteers to help on committees for special events like Re-June-Venation and the Holiday party. Not obligated to be on the Take A Seat committee. Coordinates the details of the monthly meetings with the Chapter Sponsor or venue that is hosting. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1.5-2 hours per week.


2016 Vice-President of Fellows:

What they do: This is an optional position and he/she helps potential Fellows candidates with their applications and liaises with the National Fellows Committee on the applying members behalf.


2016 Vice-President of Communications:

By-Laws Definition: Responsible for coordinating all chapter communications efforts.  This includes publicity and news releases to the public, chapter newsletters and other methods of communication such as IFDA website.  Responsible for reporting chapter events, activities and calendar to IFDA NETWORK (the national newsletter).  Where chapter size and activities dictate, the chapter may have an additional Vice President that assumes the publications duties of this office.

What that really means: He/She fills in the newsletter template once a month and distributes Sponsor emails and updates using Constant Contact. Other than attending the monthly chapter meeting and annual planning meetings, this position averages about 1-1.5 hours per week.

What they do: This is an optional position and he/she makes regular posts on FaceBook and Twitter about design related topics as well as on members, sponsors and events.
